Main Purpose of Role:

 

We’re looking for a dynamic Caroline UK Intern to join the Press and Promotions squad for 2018 Music Week Artist & Label Services Award winners Caroline International, at their London HQ on Ladbroke Grove.

 

Caroline represent a diverse, eclectic and boundary-pushing roster of artists, including Glass Animals, Denzel Curry, St. Vincent, Gaz Coombes, Ghetts, Nick Mulvey, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Nightsweats, The Horrors and labels, such as Because Music, Loma Vista, Fiction, Communion, Glassnote, Wolf Tone, Future Classics and more.

 

The main purpose of the role will be to assist the UK Publicity Manager in delivering campaigns across the Caroline International roster, whilst also helping the rest of the Promotions team with day to day tasks and supporting the wider business as required (Marketing, Sales, Digital, Label Services and International). This role will provide a fantastic opportunity to build contacts within the media and gain an understanding of how to conceive and deliver successful online & print PR campaigns for a wide variety of acts, whilst at the same time learning about the different functions of a label.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Will include but are not limited to -

 

  • General admin support across the Caroline UK label – promotions, marketing, sales, digital, label services and international, as required
  • Support to the UK Publicity Manager as follows:
    • Every morning, use Google, Intelligent Media and SubmitHub to compile and collate online and print coverage for all artists represented by the Publicity Manager
    • Pitch and collate blog album reviews
    • Keep all publicity reports up to date
    • Keep detailed lists of all assets and tools available for online use
    • Compile and keep contact lists up to date
  • Specific admin support to the Promotions Team as follows:
    • Assist with promotions team diary management
    • Supply radio coverage clippings on request
    • Circulate daily airplay updates
    • Take minutes for the weekly promotions meeting (Thursday 11am-12.30pm)

  • Flexible and responsible approach

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good knowledge of the Caroline roster
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Passionate about music and an understanding of all genres
  • A knowledge of a broad range of media outlets and the wider media landscape
  • A desire to build a career in the UK music industry
  • A knowledge of the current news agenda and popular culture (including fashion)

 

Desirable

 

  • Previous experience in publicity or marketing
  • Creative skills e.g. writing, photography/videography, digital design
  • Regularly attends gigs
