Position Overview

The Public Relations Assistant Manager will be tasked with managing UNIQLO’s reputation.  You will use various forms of media and communication to build, maintain and manage the reputation of UNIQLO Canada. You will be responsible for communicating key messages to defined target audiences in order to establish and maintain goodwill and understanding between UNIQLO and the public.

Job Description:

        Serve as a UNIQLO brand expert/ambassador

        Identify new creator opportunities across emerging platforms and verticals and lead creative ideation, unlocking new opportunities

        Stay up to date and have a deep understanding of fashion, culture, and social media trends

        Support PR/Influencer planning - including strategy, goals, budget, and tactics

        Support the overall media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast, and online media

        Manage always-on and campaign-specific influencer programs

        Support external facing brand activities, including season kick-off and in-season/product events

        Identify and develop relationships with key influencers (new and existing) to build brand relevance/awareness

        Monitor, analyze, and communicate results every quarter

        Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting UNIQLO customers to make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding those concerns

        Work closely with Global PR team members to adapt Global PR campaigns for the Canadian market

        Manage local PR Agency

        Other reasonable duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Experiences:

        At least 5 years of proven working experience in public relations required

        Bachelor’s degree in public relations or related field preferred

        Be at the forefront of understanding culture, trends and social media

        Proven track record creating and executing successful public relations/influencer campaigns in different markets

        Ability to maintain strong relationships with local and national business and industry media outlets as well as influencers

        Experience in acting as a company spokesperson

        Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills (English)

        Exceptional collaborator 

        Experience with social media considered an asset

        Ability to read, write, and speak French considered a valuable asset
