Key Responsibilities:
- Support the recruitment and onboarding processes for new store associates by supporting interview process, conducting new hire orientation, ensure employees are enrolled in our HRIS/store systems, and follow up with Payroll, Store Managers, and HR members to ensure employee onboarding is completed
- Employee relations; answer questions on policies, procedures/programs and benefits, assist with grievances and employee discipline
- Assist in the ongoing review, development and implementation of company policies, programs and initiatives including delivering training programs
- Ensure employee records are complete and accurate in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Perform administrative functions including preparing reports, letters, presentations and other administrative tasks as requested
- Time & Attendance; ensure accuracy of all timecards, deadlines are met and overtime rules are followed by all employees within Ontario
- Ensure company operates in accordance with all applicable legislation including Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act
- Support with regional organization planning and staff development including creating and monitoring the progress of a development plan with area managers and HR Manager
- Assist in supporting store staff and store managers with HR related matters
- Sit as a member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee and oversee meetings of the stores JHSC's
- Additional duties as required
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Post secondary education in field of Human Resources strongly preferred
- 3-5 years in previous human resource experience required
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office products, as well as G-Suite products
- Ability to operate with high level of integrity and confidentiality
- Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written English & French
- Keen eye for detail coupled with strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
- Ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization
- Able to work with global teams and global time zones
- Must be willing and able to travel to stores regularly in Ontario (ON)
- Knowledge of Ontario’s Employment Standards Acts, REQUIRED; knowledge of British Columbia, Alberta and Quebec's employment legislation would be considered a strong asset
