The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at UMass Memorial Health is seeking a BE/BC General Academic Anesthesiologist looking for a community anesthesia practice opportunity who has experience in Regional Anesthesia to join the team at our Marlborough Campus. 

 

With more than 1,100 physicians, the UMass Memorial Medical Group is one of the largest, integrated multispecialty group medical practices on the entire East Coast. Our physicians provide primary care and specialty services for both routine and complex health needs, and they practice at locations in Worcester and throughout Central Massachusetts.

UMass Memorial Health is the largest healthcare system in Central Massachusetts. We are the clinical partner of UMass Chan Medical School, with access to the latest technology, research and clinical trials.

Position Description:
Excellent patient care is the common goal that anchors our mission. From a practice that is spread over six locations, outpatient to tertiary care at the Medical Center, our team of over 69 Anesthesiologists, 70 Nurse Anesthetists and 32 Residents provide patient care with our anesthesia care team model at more than 60 anesthesiology sites each morning. We have 40 operating rooms and over 12 Non-OR anesthetizing sites on 6 different campuses. In addition, we have an ACGME accredited residency in anesthesiology and fellowship in critical care medicine. We have over 10 subspecialty teams. In addition, our Maternity Center at the Medical Center Campus cares for high-risk obstetric patients with a volume of over 4,300 deliveries a year. 

The spectrum of clinical anesthesia services delivered at our Marlborough Campus include General-, Orthopedic-, Urologic-, and ENT Surgery, as well as GI Endoscopy, and bronchoscopy cases across three operating rooms and the endoscopy suite.

UMass Memorial Health is a not for profit organization. This position may support if applicable both a J1 visa waiver and H1-B visa.

Position Qualifications:

Board-eligible/certified anesthesiologist.

Meets requirements for medical staff.

Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other clinical and administrative personnel.

Displays the following attributes:

  • Excellent clinician well versed in the full range of anesthetic techniques including regional anesthesia.
  • Is respected by all members of the perioperative care team.
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Is team oriented.
  • Contributes to the improvement of processes/systems in the operating room.
