Senior Financial Analyst

Position Summary:

Trupanion is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will partner with the Senior Finance Manager and the business to help the company achieve its financial and operational plans.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform variance analyses over key metrics and financial results.
  • Prepare monthly budget versus actual reporting and identify drivers for significant variances. Communicate results to department budget owners.
  • Maintain all planning, forecasting and other financial models.
  • Partner with the Business Intelligence team to develop and maintain performance-based compensation models to align individuals with company goals.
  • Create financial models, projections and sensitivities to assist the company in decision-making and help measure performance on key initiatives.


Education, Registration & Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in finance or accounting
  • 3+ years of experience in finance / accounting



  • Knowledge of financial reporting software (Microsoft Dynamics GP, Management Reporter) a plus
  • Public company experience preferred


Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Ability to build and manage financial models for business forecasting and decision-making
  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Thrives in a fluid and dynamic environment
