Position Summary:

The right person for this role is excited to gain a strong understanding of the business and critically analyze and challenge our key risks, processes, and controls. We like independent thinkers that are self-starters and motivated by identifying and implementing improvements and efficiencies. As a key member of our finance team, you will independently work with teams from several areas of the company in order to address risks and compliance matters, and be the primary point person for advising on compliance when there are new operations or changes in the business.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage the planning, scoping, risk assessments for our compliance program
  • Review the process and control documentation and critically evaluate for accuracy
  • Design effective testing strategies to ensure key controls are operating effectively
  • Perform a root cause analysis on any identified deficiencies
  • Work with control owners to verify remediation plans address root cause
  • Apply judgement to identify enhancements to processes and controls that most efficiently and effectively address risks
  • For new processes or changes to the business, provide recommendations on control design and implementation
  • Train and manage staff to assist with documentation and control testing

 

Qualifications

Education, Registration & Certification:

  • BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA is preferred

Experience:

  • 3 years of professional experience in public accounting at a big 4 firm
  • Experience with Sarbanes Oxley

  • Comfortable working independently with supervision
  • Highly organized and results-driven
  • Superior written and oral communication skills and the ability to work with different levels of management
  • Energetic, hands-on attitude toward projects, people and overall job responsibilities that translates into improvements in the internal control function
  • Highly motivated with the ability to be flexible in a fast paced environment
