Position Overview:
Transdev in Los Angeles, CA is seeking an experienced Technician in Charge to bolster our team. This position requires the level of knowledge and skills necessary to diagnose and repair commercial vehicles and equipment. This individual must have the ability to effectively work and communicate with employees and customers. Manages daily technician scheduling and operations while ensuring efficient workflow and resource allocation. As a Lead Technician/ Technician in Charge, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our assets.
Competitive compensation:
- Competitive compensation package of $ 34.00 – 42.50/ hour

Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and accurately perform all phases of vehicle repairs.
- Remove, clean, repair, reinstall, and adjust vehicle components.
- Engine repair and diagnosis
- Engine emission components (State certification)
- Driveline components
- Electrical/ electronic components
- Brakes/ suspension/ steering/ exhaust
- Cab/ chassis
- Hydraulics
- Various Scan tool proficient
- Ensure work orders are properly completed.
- Select appropriate course of action for repairs.
- Evaluate completed work prior to release.
- Ensure safe use of power and hand-held tools.
- Perform road calls and emergency services, as necessary.
- Move vehicles safely between job and work area.
- Communicate professionally with customers, team members and supervisors.
- Actively participate in safety or educational training as required.
- Continuous ASE/ EVT re-certification is required to remain in job classification.
- Coordinate and prioritize the workload of the diesel technician team, assigning tasks and ensuring all work is completed in a timely manner
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues in diesel vehicles and equipment
- Coach and monitor members of the work team
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a diesel technician, with demonstrated proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and related systems
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical examination if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason
Physical Requirements:
- The essential functions of this position require the ability to:
- Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking, lifting of light and heavy objects, climbing ladders/stairs/ramps or scaffolding, and using tools and equipment that require a high degree of manual dexterity.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred pounds.
