Hourly pay ranges based on experience & job classification:      

  • A Tech: $41.00 / hr
  • B Tech: $34.00 / hr
  • C Tech: $30.00 / hr

Walk-in interviews are held Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, from 10 am - 1 pm at 6100 Farrington Ave, Alexandria, VA 22304.      

Diesel Mechanic Benefits:

About the Diesel Mechanic Position       

This Transdev location is in Arlington, Virginia, where we operate a local bus service and provide maintenance needs of buses and other equipment operated by Arlington Transit.       

  • Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers by performing limited repairs with moderate supervision on basic and advanced maintenance.
  • Remove and replace engine, transmission, and differential assemblies
  • Maintain records of all maintenance work completed on vehicles, including parts and supplies used. Ensure that work orders are completed properly and accurately.
  • Repair and maintain all shop equipment
  • Assist with road calls and emergency services as necessary
  • Diagnoses and performs all phases of vehicle and equipment repair accurately 

Diesel Mechanic Qualifications       

  • A vocational or technical degree in vehicle maintenance is preferred.
  • A valid CDL driver’s license is highly preferred
  • At least 1 - 5 years of automotive or diesel repair employment experience or a combination of education & experience.
  • Must have appropriate mechanic’s toolset.
  • ASE certifications are preferred. Must participate in company ASE certification program (company training, testing, and bonuses provided!).
  • Strong experience with computers, web-based applications, and computerized diagnostics
  • Subject to DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
