Operate a streetcar through city streets for the purpose of carrying passengers in a safe manner and in accordance with city, county, state and federal laws, as well as, Company rules and policies. Ensures that the highest quality of streetcar service is delivered to customers.

Responsibilities:
- Operates a streetcar in revenue, non-revenue service and the streetcar storage yard in strict compliance with Transdev’s rules, policies and procedures. Adheres to all traffic safety laws, regulations, standard operating and emergency procedures
- Conducts self and interacts in an appropriate, professional manner at all times with the public and coworkers
- Operates communication system in accordance with radio protocols and FCC regulations; announces station stops, communicates with passengers and handles events related to automatic equipment failure announcements and emergencies
- Operates streetcar in unusual weather conditions i.e. rain, snow, ice, heat
- Operates the streetcar using a variety of keys, levers and buttons
- Performs streetcar pre-departure inspection in accordance with set procedures
- Responsible to report any unusual occurrences during the course of duty including vehicle and maintenance-of-way issues to the Operations Controller
- Completes all required reports accurately at the end of scheduled shift
- Assists in providing on-the-job instruction to student operators as required
- Completes all other job related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education, Licensing, and Certifications:
- Possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be a minimum of twenty-one (21) years of age
- Possess a valid State Driver License
- Must pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination including random drug and alcohol screens
- Must be able to successfully complete the Operator Streetcar Training Program and be certified to operate a Streetcar
- Must be able to be re-certified periodically on Standard Operating Procedures, rules, and hands on proficiency
Experience:
- Previous professional transportation experience in streetcar/LRV, transit bus, school bus and trucking desired but not necessary
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Ability to maintain a high level of dependability, reliability and safety
- Ability to write clear concise reports
- Ability to speak clearly, distinctly and effectively in a variety of situations using tact and diplomacy
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to exercise prudent and timely judgement in standard and emergency situations

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time in a confined space operating the streetcar
- Must be able to walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend and reach overhead
- Good manual dexterity
- Must be able to sustain alertness under tedious circumstances
- Must be able to work in various outdoor temperatures and weather conditions
- Must be able to work variable shifts including nights/weekends/holidays
Duties may require one to work more than eight (8) hours per days/nights/weekends/holidays
