We are Now Hiring a Lead Fleet Diagnostic & Training Technician!

Responsibilities   
  • Daily review with a Foreman of the Road Call report to identify any Check Engine Light (CEL), Multifunction Indicator Light (MIL), SCR, DEF, Stop Engine, No Charge Lights, etc.
  • Ability to read schematics well and diagnose buses within or before the “Industry and Transdev” standard times.
  • Ability to learn and understand complex systems.
  • Must attend and be certified with RTD Training Classes.
  • Knowledge of I/O Systems with the ability to learn new systems.
  • Knowledge of ZF Transmissions.
  • Diagnose all road call’s with “lost service time” to prevent repeaters.
  • Work closely with the QC Manager to train and implement new standards in the shop.
  • Train and document of all technicians in the shop on existing and new findings on buses.
  • Identify when an issue becomes a “fleet defect” and track and report accordingly.
  • Review parts to ensure quality before installation.
  • Track failures and repeat problems.
  • Monitor technician performance and productivity.
  • Monitor “Come-Back” work from technicians and report and re-train accordingly.
  • Knowledge in DEF/SCR Systems
  • Must have deep knowledge of Cummins In-Site program and able to use at an advanced level.
  • Other duties as assigned.
    
Qualifications   
Essential Knowledge and Skills Required:   
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of all types of automotive and transit equipment or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and alternate fuel engines and/or internal combustion engines, automatic transmissions, airbrakes, steering and drivelines.
  • Possess an understanding of the theory of electricity and also be able to read and understand wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to work with Word and Excel.
  • Must obtain ASE Master certification in “T” Series within 12 months.
  • Ability to obtain a commercial drivers license with a passenger endorsement.
  • Prior experience with computerized diagnostic equipment.
  • Fleet field experience a plus.
  • Must be able to pass a physical examination and a drug test.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours.
  • Must complete and sign the Transdev employment application in its entirety.
  • College degree a plus but a combination of education and work experience may be considered.
