The Point of Sale Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that customers receive excellent service by helping to answer and solve patron questions and concerns. Provide information in response to inquiries about bus services, trip planning, route changes, ticket sales, in addition to handling and resolving complaints. Point of Sale Coordinator major responsibilities:
- Receives, researches, and answers customer inquiries and requests regarding bus service, schedules, trip planning, ticket sales, fares, and services offered.
- Follows-up on customer inquiries and research to assure satisfactory completion.
- Responsible for learning the entire transit system, in addition to frequently asked questions regarding regional transit partners.
- Accurately and efficiently sell and distribute tickets as appropriate.
- Complete point-of-sale transactions and phone orders by cash, credit, debit and checks.
- Balances ticket sales with payments received and cash drawer and receipts; documenting discrepancies.
- Updates inventory and revenue records. Analyzes transactions, corrects records, and adjusts errors.
- Enters transactions accurately into the AIMS Advantage and Microsoft Dynamics systems.
- Assists walk-up customers. Assists customers with lost and found items.
- Enters phone calls into database. Maintains a clean and well-stocked sales area. Close out all POS systems. Assist with cash vault as needed. Availability to work split-shifts if needed.
- Performs all other duties as assigned, including administrative duties.
Point of Sale Coordinator requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or secretarial assignments involving advanced recordkeeping (directly related business school or college courses may be substituted equally for up to 6 months experience) OR any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Working knowledge of bookkeeping theories and practices and accepted office procedures.
- Ability to perform a volume of numerical detail work with speed and accuracy, to make difficult mathematical computations with and without mechanical assistance (ability to operate a calculator by touch).
- Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions and technical or legal terminology.
- Ability to prepare financial and other records in a systematic, neat, legible manner.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, a variety of governmental employees and officials, and the general public.
