JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for same-day service scheduling and manifest maintenance for the access-a-ride transportation program. The dispatcher works directly with passengers and carriers and ensures that all runs are on time on the day of service.
Responsibilities:
- Consistently review routes and adjust for efficiency
- Maintain route productivity of spare use
- Respond to customer inquiries such as vehicle location, ETA, and ride times in a timely manner and maintain a standard call answer rate
- Schedule same-day changed transportation for customers, i.e., will-call service
- Monitor emails and handle them as appropriate
- Provide excellent customer service
- Relay changes to carriers with updated manifests
- Schedule all unscheduled trips no less than one hour before scheduled windows
- Complete all carrier transfers
- Perform data entry for non-MDC manifests as needed
Qualifications:
In addition to all the requirements that are listed for the dispatcher position description
- Minimum of one year of dispatching or scheduling experience or a year in customer service.
- Great knowledge of the Denver metro area and surrounding cities and the ability to read maps and give directions
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to assess a problem and resolve it using good judgment
- Excellent detail-oriented skills, ability to multi-task, pay attention to detail, remain focused, and follow through with tasks
Essential job functions:
- Ability to proficiently operate a Windows-based computer with a keystroke speed of no less than 35 corrected words per minute
- Ability to communicate clearly in the English language
- Able to utilize a standard business telephone
- Ability to sit for extended periods
