Description

Manages moderately complex technical product development processes and ensures consistency of fit and quality in the assigned product by generating all specifications and fit comments, participating in fitting meetings, and making corrections as needed.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Works with Technical Designer, Merchants, and Design Teams to establish the direction of the fit and garment details.
  • Creates grading specs, garment measurements & how to measure sketches; develops and/or corrects patterns when necessary.
  • Creates fit comments; notes all design and specs discrepancies prior to fittings.
  • Develops clear and complete fit comments for each style.
  • Tracks fit approval and sample process; organizes fit samples received, including logging received samples and scheduling fitting; maintain Time & Action (T&A) sample log sheet.
  • Executes fit comments from concept to TOP of assigned and additional product classifications.
  • Communicates daily with vendors, Merchants, Design, and Production teams for T&A and product execution. 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • 1-2 years of design experience including technical knowledge.
  • Strong computer skills including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Hand sketching experience a preferred.
  • Able to work in a fast paced, multi-task environment.
  • Possesses strong organizational time management skills.
  • Excellent sense of urgency and consistency.
  • Illustrates a dedication to meeting requirements of internal and external customers, responding to all customer requests promptly and thoroughly.
  • Strong communication skills including ability to work in a team environment, give honest, direct feedback and is a solid verbal and written communicator.
  • Meets deadlines, prioritizes appropriately, copes well with change, and maintains composure under pressure.
WHAT YOU'LL GET:  
  • High School required a four (4)-year college degree in fashion merchandising/design preferred.
  • Two (2) years in technical design, pattern making, or quality assurance, or a combination 
  • Basic understanding of fit, balance, and garment construction, fabrics, and fabric performance
  • Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with all levels of management.
  • Provide constructive, honest, and direct feedback.
  • Meets deadlines, prioritize appropriately, copes well with change, and maintains composure under pressure.

  • Is accountable for results, approaches obstacles proactively and looks for ways to resolve problems and issues.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with ability to multitask, prioritize and achieve timely results. 
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • of education with equivalent work experience.
  • Strong computer skills including Adobe Illustrator, MS Word, and Excel.
  • Previous technical design experience is desirable.
  • Previous retail or garment manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and lift/move up to 10 pounds.  May lift/move up to 30 pounds occasionally.
Salary:$66560-$76000
