THE THIRD FLOOR, Inc. is the world’s pre-eminent visualization company with offices in Los Angeles and London as well as on location with productions around the world. Since 2004, the studio has helped clients visualize and maximize content by producing computer-animated blueprints, known as “previsualizations”. 

Recent film and television projects THE THIRD FLOOR has worked on include The Martian, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation,
Marvel’s Ant-Man, Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, Mad Max: Fury Road, Maleficent, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Edge of Tomorrow, Guardians of the Galaxy and Game of Thrones Seasons 4 and 5, 6 & 7.

The Production Manager is central to previs project management. They manage the day to day operations across multiple projects. You will work closely with clients managing their schedules and expectation and with the Previs Supervisors & Senior Talent Manager to successfully crew and deliver projects on brief, and on budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all day-to- day operations on all productions delegating accordingly to the Associate Production Manager(s) 
  • Act as a point of contact for day-to- day client interactions
  • Understand and work with project supervisors & talent manager to successfully crew and deliver projects
  • Take responsibility for knowing details of the schedule along with the APM and advising supervisors and production coordinators accordingly
  • Manage artist assignments, project casting/allocation and artist holiday requests
  • Take responsibility for project budgets and to bid additional work on existing projects
  • Work with HOP and STM to forecast recruitment and staffing requirements for current and unconfirmed projects
  • Oversee coordinators and ensure good organisation of dailies, rounds and meetings, client deliveries, the taking of notes and following up on information as necessary
  • Oversee client deliveries and project reporting
  • Work with our other locations (Los Angeles) on cross-site shows as and when required
  • Communicate information quickly and succinctly to the supervisors, artists and HOP through regular and ad-hoc meetings and reporting methods
  • Help to maintain a positive, upbeat, creative and professional team while being pro-active and solution-oriented
  • Other ad hoc duties as may be reasonably expected of the post-holder
Essential Skills:
  • Previous experience at VFX Line Producer or Production Manager level
  • Good knowledge of MS Office packages (incl Excel, Word and Project)
  • Previous scheduling and bidding experience
  • Highly organised, first-class time/project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to prioritise conflicting tasks
  • Ability to remain calm and confident in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work within a team towards a common goal
  • In depth understanding of the production workflow
  • In depth understanding of common file formats and resolutions
Desirable Skills:
  • Existing knowledge of production databases, including Shotgun & Filemaker
  • Good knowledge of Maya and Photoshop a plus
  • Lateral thinking skills
