THE THIRD FLOOR, Inc. is the world’s pre-eminent visualization company with offices in Los Angeles and London as well as on location with productions around the world. Since 2004, the studio has helped clients visualize and maximize content by producing computer-animated blueprints, known as “previsualizations”. Recent film and television projects THE THIRD FLOOR has worked on include The Martian, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Marvel’s Ant-Man, Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, Mad Max: Fury Road, Maleficent, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Edge of Tomorrow, Guardians of the Galaxy and Game of Thrones Seasons 4 and 5. 

The Casting Coordinator reports to the Production Manager and is responsible for creating the optimal team of artists based on skillset assessments and the project’s requirements. The Casting Coordinator is the liaison between the London Supervisors, Artist Manager and the Production Manager to ensure information is being exchanged clearly and thoroughly.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Handles the day-to-day show casting needs working with the PM and AM to propose optimal teams of artists for shows.
  • Maintains the casting calendar to ensure it always reflects the current and projected crewing.
  • To stay informed on each project and what the brief will require from the teams.
  • To track the artist holiday absences and obtain approvals from the PM.
  • To work closely with Recruitment on upcoming project needs.
  • To update IMDB team projects once the projects are released.
  • To create weekly reports on casting information and assignments to distribute to management and then the artists.
  • Inform IT of new starters joining an off-site show to ensure they are organised and equipped at the studio.
  • General production administration duties as required.

Essential Skills:

  • Previous experience working within a production environment.
  • Understanding of Animation and Previs.
  • Highly organised, first-class time/project management skills.
  • The ability to build strong working relationships to work cohesively as a team.
  • Proven organisational skills are essential to successfully co-ordinate and cast artists to several shows at once.
  • The ability to work towards tight deadlines in a highly pressurised area, resolving a variety of problems and priorities as they occur with tact and intelligence.
  • Experience with dealing with artists and talent.
  • Experience of dealing with confidential information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and confident in a fast-paced environment.
