Havas Formula, an award-winning, leading national PR agency is looking for a Senior Account Supervisor for our Consumer\Lifestyle division in our NY office. We are looking for someone who is motivated and has high energy as we work in a fast-paced environment. You must have at least 6 years of PR agency experience. 


The Senior Account Supervisor adds creative perspective and strategic input on multiple client programs and has a full understanding of the client needs and applies project management, programming, budgeting, staff leadership and management skills to assignments. The SAS is a strategic thinker, creative contributor, and manager of 7 or 8 accounts. Creates ideas and processes to manage national PR programs. Supports senior management in development of strategic, creative and leverages strategy and innovative programming for clients. Builds excellent client rapport, and ensures client satisfaction. Manages a team of professional junior staff and takes the responsibility for the team’s success on assigned projects.



Media/Influencer Relations:

  • Conducts outreach to top-tier print, broadcast and online media
  • Secures editor appointments to pitch clients in a social setting
  • Secures at least 3-5 pieces of coverage a month, all tier 1 media, 3-5 tier 1 national placements per quarter, and a minimum of 1 placement a month for each assigned vertical category per client
  • Secures Manages media and influencer relations program to ensure success; works with Account Supervisor to hold individual team members accountable for hitting coverage goals
  • Oversees development of key performance indicators (KPI’s) and metrics; sets process in place with client and team
  • Develops influencer strategies and oversees program execution
  • Consistently reviews media databases to ensure efficacy
  • Identifies trends, new publications, and new mediums



Account Management and Strategic Planning:

  • Offers strategic guidance and client counsel
  • Supports Account Supervisor and/or Senior Account Executive as the day-to-day client contact and ensures accounts are moving forward with results-driven focus
  • Leads daily client communication; attends regular in-person meetings
  • Works with Director or VP on budget management (retainer fee budget + incremental budget /Pre-pays)
  • Facilitates creative brainstorm sessions and assists in the development of annual plans, product/service launch campaigns, etc.
  • Provides feedback and acts as final reviewer on quarterly planning calendars
  • Ensures client timelines/plans are being followed
  • Identifies client goals, priorities and target audiences; ensure that all programs and resultant work are aligned with defined goals
  • Manages client expectations
  • Reviews/approves all activity and media reports before they go to client
  • Develops strategic programs and timelines for various client initiatives
  • Identifies relevant sponsorship/event/promotion opportunities
  • Acts as a liaison with other agency partners
  • Identifies and addresses issues before they become problems with clients (and staff)
  • Helps sets realistic expectations with clients as part of day-to-day communications and dialogue


Team Management/Mentoring:

  • Manages team’s media outreach to ensure consistent coverage and helps them develop story angles
  • Communicates priorities on a daily/weekly basis
  • Oversees the workflow of junior staff, ensures reports are submitted on time and deadlines are met
  • Leads program development through team meetings and brainstorming sessions to generate new creative direction and improve client service
  • Final review/edits on press releases and communication materials written by junior team members
  • Tracks team hours on each account
  • Acts as a sounding board for junior staff; addresses any issues or concerns


New Business:

  • Participates in new business meetings
  • Assists VP and director with creative ideas for new business proposals
  • Attends new business presentations


Education: Bachelor’s Degree (communications, liberal arts, business or marketing focus preferred)

Experience: Six to eight years of PR agency experience


Skills & Abilities Required: Strong leadership qualities and proven ability to lead by example. Possesses motivational capabilities in a highly pressurized environment. Is appropriate, approachable and fair, and creates valued relationships with staff. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Can meet tight deadlines and has an exceptional eye for details.


Experience managing a team and multiple client accounts. Strong people management skills to include the ability to mentor staff and provide direction and objectives, performance counseling and skill building. Ability to manage up and down in the organization. Successful track record of developing integrated public relations programs. Ability to actively participate in creative brainstorms in group and team meetings. Knowledge of when to rely on personal judgment and when to seek advice. Good delegation skills. Strong independence. Solid judgement, drive and influence. Ability to create action plans from recommendations. Entrepreneurial spirit, passion and intellectual curiosity. Significant experience in influencer marketing and social media. Must be collaborative and results driven. Ability to understand client brand category and landscape in order to deliver creative ideas that resonate with target audiences.
