Desired Skills and Experience

Essential Functions:

  • Writes advertising/marketing copy from conception to completion for all media.
  • Works with art directors, account executives and production, as a team, on assigned accounts to determine client needs and campaign strategies.
  • Collaborates with art director to develop concepts that are on strategy and achieve client objectives.
  • Sells creative concepts to internal team, creative management and clients.
  • Checks and approves copy throughout all stages of pre-production, production and post-production.
  • Is knowledgeable and remains current on client’s brand and brand guidelines.
  • Adheres to schedules and budgets.
  • Enters time reports once a week, at a minimum.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates necessary activities with creative manager and account team; i.e., adequate lead times, special requirements, notice of absence from office, etc.
  • Maintains personal library of reference material relating to assigned clients.
  • Remains current on industry trends and technology.
  • Participates in client/agency meetings as needed.
  • Handles other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Projects completed on time and within budget.
  • Work reflects intelligent thinking, innovation and a clear understanding of creative strategy.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Advertising, Journalism or field required.
  • 3+ years of experience as a copywriter or similar writing experience.
  • Solid understanding of advertising and marketing principals.
  • Must have previous interactive/digital experience
