JOB SUMMARY

  • Owns media brief and ensures brief is clear, often working in partnership with client to write or refine brief
  • Partners with client leadership to ensure that business goals are clear and understood by agency team working against brief
  • Owns consumer and uses inputs from client, client’s research and Insight & Data Strategy team to create clear picture of who client needs to reach to succeed in their business goals
  • Identifies consumer’s needs and their pathway or journey in an objective and data informed way
  • Creates story and provides masterful storytelling
  • Uses qualitative and quantitative research to develop insights into consumer connections with category and brand
  • Applies insights to identify clear communications goals to be achieved and which channels should be used to achieve them
  • Moderates or guides content development process to bring content specialists who can help conceive creative ways media might work to achieve goals
  • Partners with connections planners so that investment decisions are in line with strategy

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Day to day part of communications strategy efforts for one or more brands/accounts within office
  • Ensures that plans are focused on business, communications and media metrics
  • Contributes to development of clear definition of business situation and communications goals
  • Tackles client business problems and opportunities by emphasizing business solutions first and how media can help achieve them
  • Partners with Client Leadership team to ensure that Havas strategic planning process (MAP) is deployed to help make pathway clear
  • Role delivers in Ignite (identify growth drivers), Explore (define strategic opportunity) and Design (develop strategy) areas of strategic planning process and is responsible for keeping connection plan on strategy
  • Champions and drives an ‘organic marketing’ approach which includes pushing all teams to consider Owned, Shared and Earned as well as Paid media (OSEP)
  • Leverages (and sometimes develops) consumer decision journeys and other relevant research to identify key consumer behaviors and barriers for maximizing media value
  • Works in significant partnership with Insights and Data Strategy team to bring all kinds of research, insight and data to bear in creation of compelling strategy for clients to achieve their goals
  • Participates in new business activity as required

 

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Experience in planning or related media/communications planning
  • Previous comms/connections strategy or planning experience a must
  • Ability to turn research into insights
  • Ability to express thinking and ideas cohesively in both written and verbal forms
  • Comfort in contributing to meetings and ideation sessions
  • Collaborative nature and desire to work across diverse disciplines
  • Independent, flexible and excels in fast paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree required
