Associate Director is reporting to the SVP, Finance FP&A and is responsible for the following functions, among others:

 

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the financial performance of assigned health related clients and projects
  • Create and maintain a clear audit trail of all client financial activity within industry and accounting guidelines. Prepare and maintain all financial records for monthly, quarterly and annual client reporting or audit requirements, as needed.
  • Partner with the project owners in the financial oversight of client work streams, including: on a monthly basis, review of the project management against scope of work, all aspects of budgeting, financial analysis, revenue projections and revenue recognition.
  • Responsible for production and maintenance of client financial statements, client profitability, multi-period budgets and forecasts.
  • Review the WIP and the AR balances for the clients on a weekly/monthly basis in connection with the project owners. Alert account teams if an issue
  • Track and maintain project expenses and hours. Variance analysis for planned vs. actual client out-of-pocket per business segment budget. Serve as liaison between program management and accounting in regards to client revenue recognition, invoicing, and cash collections.
  • Time sheets: approve all time not posted against client jobs
  • Forecasting out-of-pocket expenses in conjunction with Production and Account team
  • Hold monthly status meetings with account teams on reconcilable accounts to review billing/manpower hours/missing timesheets, etc.
  • Approve non billable costs on expense reports
  • Assemble Revenue Forecast (re-forecasted quarterly) in conjunction with the finance and account management team
  • Assemble monthly internal and client Labor Utilization Report in conjunction with the finance and account team. Accurately assess and alert partner program managers and/or client team/leads of the financial risks associated with each project, guarding against project over-runs.
  • Involved in the management of billing to the client, including monthly retainers, out of pocket costs and project fees. Ensure that all supporting documents are attached to the invoices appropriately
  • Job management – approve new job requests, job close, new estimates, non-billable POs
  • Participate in month-end closing process with Finance

 

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Accounting/ Financial experience with progressive levels of responsibility; media and advertising health agency experience preferred
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance; MBA a plus
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, communication, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated capacity for effective leadership and willingness to assume greater responsibility
  • Advanced PC Skills (MS Office); Cognos TM1 and MediaOcean proficiency preferred
  • Ability to make recommendation to resolve problems or issues effectively, by using judgment that is in consistent with Agency standards, practices, policies, procedures, or regulations
