Senior Art Directors at Havas Toronto provide design and content direction across a variety of clients. The Sr. AD must exhibit outstanding creative judgment and work collaboratively with strategists, UX designers, writers, developers and project managers to achieve the highest possible standards for all materials across all mediums. The  Sr. AD needs working knowledge of clients’ business challenges, and leads the art direction to address specific business objectives as defined by the brief. The Toronto office is currently looking to hire a Sr. AD or an AD depending on level and experience to join the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing a variety of interfaces, demonstrating a strong understanding of the nuances across channels (e.g., websites, kiosks, applications and mobile apps)
  • Provide art direction on small-and large-scale projects from creative conception to completion
  • Converts rough ideas into visual prototypes (e.g., sketches, comps) to illustrate concepts for creative reviews
  • Recommends, researches and develops content (e.g., photography, illustration) to support creative strategy and execution
  • Is accountable for the final development and production of creative assets ensuring design meets or exceeds objectives
  • Plays an active role in contributing conceptual ideas in creative development
  • Works closely with the UX teams to create engaging experiences
  • Works to improve the integrated team’s overall performance and embraces a collaborative approach
  • Work with developers to maintain the integrity of design
  • Develops style and brand guides

 Requirements:

  • Experience working in a digital agency
  • Demonstrates proficient expertise using Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch
  • Understands design applications in traditional and emerging channels
  • Strong understanding of User Experience best practices
  • Can leverage research, analytics and brand insights to inform design
  • States opinions clearly and can verbally describe visual concepts
  • Demonstrates ability to manage clients throughout the creative process
  • Produces work that adheres to brand standards, but also able to explore new interpretations of the brand and develops out-of-the-box approaches
  • Takes direction well from creative directors
  • Understands that all projects require attention to detail so that work is on-time, on-budget and on-strategy
  • Ability to work efficiently on multiple assignments, delivering quality work under tight timelines
  • 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Preferred client experience in financial services, investment and consumer retail
  • Experience working on full 360 campaign work, video and content creation, and new business
  • Accurately scope and estimate design effort for new jobs
