Supervisor, Local Investments


Supervisors are responsible for the total media investment and activation services on their assigned accounts. They work in conjunction with the assigned Associate Director to the account to help oversee the quality control of the buys. They insure all client goals and budgets have been adhered to by the investment buyers.

In addition, Supervisors are assigned a list of DMA’s and MSA’s to negotiate and place all local Audio and Video investments for existing and new clients, in addition to making targeted and opportunistic recommendations, to the client and key account management.

Supervisors must stay up to date on the media landscape and marketplace understanding the nuances and trends.


  • Works with the Associate Director, interprets, coordinates, and provides authorization for implementation of local audio–video media investments 

  • Ensures the team is creating optimum buys, negotiate appropriate added value, make-goods/credits and delivering post buy analysis for their assigned accounts 

  • Meets with vendors to analyses proposals, packages and opportunities for local audio and video clients 

  • Negotiates and places all local audio and video investments for accounts within an assigned group of markets 

  • Estimates, updates and optimizes audio and video ratings for all active campaigns 

  • Negotiates special placements, promotions and added value 

  • Adheres to budgets and timelines 

  • Monitors buys in progress, arranges for credits and is responsible for on-going post-buy results in their markets 

  • Collaborates with media team members and planners to resolve media billing issues 

  • Keeps up-to-date on all available market and media information necessary for the most effective and efficient audio and video buys 

  • Helps to train investment associates and investment buyers, in proper methods of preparing, evaluating, and implementing local audio and video media campaigns 

  • Assists account service teams in overall planning, including local market evaluation, nuances, strategy and costing 

  • Maintains familiarity with the history, present organization, and procedures of their assigned clients business 

  • Is at all times alert to new media or new methods of using existing media and new developments informing senior staff of such developments 

  • Provides an energy level that brings new and exciting ideas to the investment team 



  • 4-6 years of media investment experience with progressive levels of responsibility 

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university 

  • Strong negotiating capability 

  • Understands the elements and implementation of a strategic investment in the audio and video space 

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills 

  • Demonstrates problem solving and decision-making skill 

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage to deadlines 

  • Demonstrates leadership, initiative, and willingness to assume greater responsibility 

  • Ability to effectively oversee and guide a small team
