Ecselis, the performance arm of Havas Media, is looking for an experiencedV Paid Search Director with proven experience in strategizing and executing campaigns paid media campaigns 

This person must be a leader with strong client management skills.

The principal elements of the role are as follows:

  • Responsibility for the Ecselis Performance team; lead and inspire them, driving standards to achieve the highest level of excellence
  • Lead and develop strategy and planning capabilities
  • Drive thought-leadership of Performance both internally across HMG and externally across the industry
  • Deliver income and cost targets
  • Develop and deliver a complete Performance proposition across all techniques
  • Deliver incremental new and organic business growth
  • Act as the senior MO point of escalation for FO Performance needs
  • Ensure that the staff works in conformance with Agency policies and procedures
  • Main Responsibilities

    Performance Team

    • Create an inspiring culture within the team which promotes career advancement and job satisfaction
    • Motivate and develop the individuals to fulfill their potential. Including performance appraisals, and development training programmes
    • Drive best practice throughout the team, specifically improving the quality of insight, planning rationales and creative solutions of Ecselis Performance activity
    • Develop and implement a structure and process, which will enable the Performance team to deliver outstanding work for our clients and profitable business across HMG
    • Foster and promote collaboration between all Performance and Front Office Teams
    • Deliver Ecselis’ commercial targets, recommending investment strategies and implementing cost reductions across the team (when and where necessary)
    • Ensure the team are developing recommendations that are complementary to other media as well as the agency’s tech strategy (e.g. ad serving and reporting)

    Clients

    • Responsibility for key clients: develop complimentary strategies to improve business performance and deliver client results
    • Develop strong relationships with senior clients
    • Work alongside FO teams to ensure the Performance team delivers an integrated digital marketing solution, which places innovation and best practice at the heart of all recommendations
    • Effective management of team resources to deliver client objectives
    • Senior point of escalation for Performance personnel team issues

    Strategy and Innovation

    • Work in conjunction with the full performance team to deliver a holistic search strategy
    • Thought-leadership for key clients across the agency
    • Drive planning and insight best practice across the team
    • Develop and deliver innovative and creative solutions
    • Senior point of escalation for issues within Front Office
    • In conjunction with data and insight teams, embed value attribution methodologies within strategy and campaign optimisation
    • Lead adoption of Artemis (or equivalent solutions) among teams and clients to drive improved performance across all HMG clients
    • Be a central figure (along with other digital specialists) to improve HMG’s digital understanding – specifically within FO
    • Recommend technology partnerships that deliver better client solutions or create operational efficiencies

    New business

    • Lead in Performance specific pitches
    • Working with wider FO teams to win digital billings from existing clients
    • Written responses (such as RFPs) as well as pitch presentations
    • Develop and articulate the agency’s Performance proposition
    • Represent the agency in industry councils
    • Identify opportunities for Performance channel only pitches. IE: Paid Search
    • Manage all third parties acting as lead generators on our behalf
    • Manage the new business pipeline

    Marketing and PR

    • Create first class case studies to represent HMG’s best work
    • Enter (and win!) awards
    • Raise profile of HMG through thought leadership, industry events, comment and articles, and conferences
    • Represent the agency in Industry round tables

    Requirements
    • 5+ years of digital media experience, agency, brand or sales - 2 years of experience strategizing and executing HCP/OTC Paid Media campaigns.
    • Exceptional communication skills - the ability to translate complex conversations into simple, concise communication & manage that communication across multiple teams.
    • Great organizational skills & focus to manage projects from creation to completion
    • Strong leader - able to create a vision & get others to buy into that vision to drive business results
    • Experience working with specialty teams within an agency
