The Mars Agency is seeking a proactive, self-directed Revenue Manager is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of revenue figures based on internal and external requirements. We are an expanding team providing team members with much potential for further professional and personal growth. The ideal candidate is eager for continuous learning, ambitious and not afraid to take on new challenges. This position will work cross-functionally and collaborate with key business partners to support existing and new business initiatives, while ensuring that processes adhere to GAAP and internal controls. This position will report to the VP Finance & Controller may be remote.
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform contract reviews for substantial agreements to determine proper accounting treatment and application.
  • Perform variance analysis and analytical review to identify and investigate unusual fluctuations related to all revenue P&L and Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain account reconciliations consistent with US GAAP and corporate accounting policies for both Income Statement and Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Perform end-to-end revenue testing for NetSuite and billing implementation, while regularly working with internal and external business partners, both local and international.
  • Streamline month and quarter end close procedures including account reconciliations, flux analysis, calculation of standalone selling price for multi-element arrangements and contract reviews.
  • Design, implement and enforce internal revenue accounting policies across a multinational corporation.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, training members of the organization on revenue accounting policies and the adoption/implementation of such.
  • Research accounting and reporting matters to maintain and ensure GAAP compliance and make recommendations as appropriate.
  • Support technology initiatives and assist with ERP process improvement testing and implementation.
  • Leverage technology and enhance automation of financial processes and reporting of data for efficiency and ability to scale.
  • Assume responsibility for other special projects as assigned.
SKILLSETS REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred but not required
  • 2-3 years Public Accounting or combination of public accounting and relevant private company experience, including management of staff
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, primarily surrounding revenue recognition and related balance sheet classifications.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret and apply complex data.
  • Advanced Excel (including complex formulas and query)
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous process improvement.
  • High proficiency in using advanced financial software tools and systems including NetSuite or equivalent ERP
  • Self-starter who can work independently and within a team, comfortable in a dynamic and fast paced environment with ability to meet deadlines
  • A collaborative and team-oriented mindset to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex concepts to stakeholders effectively.

The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $90,000, commensurate with experience and location.
