We are seeking a VP, Client Leadership, who is responsible for developing Shopper Marketing strategies for assigned brands/retailers and leading growth of assigned businesses. Candidates must reside in a commutable distance to Mars United Commerce’s Bentonville hub location.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Deliver breakthrough thinking in strategic planning sessions and in client/all agency summits
  • Cultivate expert knowledge and contacts within the shopper marketing and consumer promotion fields
  • Lead team, Account Directors/Account Managers in the development of an annual business plan in conjunction with stated or potential client needs
  • Identify and communicate changing client business rules and priorities to internal financial management function
  • Optimize the impact of customer insight in the creative/program development process by inspiring and partnering with Creative staff on your team
  • Perform personnel reviews, coach and mentor direct reports to ensure succession planning, as required
  • Cultivate productive senior-level client relationships
  • Demonstrate strong conceptual thinking skills
  • Combine analytical rigor with creative problem-solving skills
  • Translate client’s business objectives into marketing and communications objectives for the agency
  • Negotiate contracts and fee arrangements as needed
  • Forge relationships with outside partners/suppliers as needed
  • All other duties as assigned by manager
  • Meet in person with local-based client team, as needed
  • Limited travel required
SKILL SETS REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, or related field. Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 10-15 years experience in the CPG industry- with Tier 1 Manufacturers’ Marketing background and/or Shopper Marketing agency experience
  • CPG Food experience preferred
  • Dynamic personality able to effectively engage and influence a variety of audiences
  • A wealth of industry knowledge including current trends, consumer packaged goods and retailer information, and business philosophies
  • Motivational leadership, inspiring team to deliver top performance every day against assigned business
  • Strategic thinking in the development of Shopper Marketing programs and management of day to day business
  • Excellent written, presentation, management, listening and interpersonal skills
  • Sound decision making skills based in agency, client, and industry knowledge
  • Passion about business and dissatisfaction with status quo – always thinking of ways to improve/grow assigned client/business
  • Strong listening skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills
