TCS seeks a skilled, motivated and experienced Fall 2026 Intramural (Grades 3 - 5) Co-Ed Cross Country Head Coach to start September 2, 2026. The mission of TCS is to enrich minds and inspire dreams. We are a progressive elementary/middle school serving students from age three through eighth grade in a diverse community in midtown Atlanta. Grounded in principles of excellence, innovation, and play, our graduates are passion-driven young adults who lead lives of purpose in an interconnected world.

Reporting directly to the Athletic Director, athletic coaches are responsible for coaching student athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition. This position motivates student athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport.

The Coach: 

  • Instruct students regarding the rules/regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport

  • Observe students, during competition and practice to determine the needs for individual or team improvement

  • Assign team positions

  • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior and provide proper supervision of athletes at all times

  • Communicate weekly with parents and Athletic Director

  • Work with the Athletic Director on holding organizational meetings to encourage student participation, develop a practice schedule, schedule facilities, requisitioning of equipment, safety procedures, and maintaining student-related records

  • Attend the end of the year banquet, as requested by the Athletic Director

The season starts September 2, 2026 and runs through December 17, 2026. Practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. with carpool until 5:00 p.m.

Qualifications include:

  • Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills, as well as a thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents and students

  • Experience as an athletic coach or assistant coach preferred
