Position at Taylor Corporation

The Senior Accountant position at Taylor Corporation will support multiple Taylor companies preparing month-end financial reports and analysis to help drive the business, working closely with company and corporate accounting team members and other corporate departments.  This position requires a detail oriented person with initiative, good judgment, persistence and the ability to learn systems quickly.

 

Shift Available

  • Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Monthly closing activities, including journal entry preparation and review
  • Reconciling and reviewing general ledger accounts to verify transactions have been recorded properly
  • Preparation and analysis of monthly financial reporting package for supported locations
  • Preparation of annual budgets, review and analysis
  • Proactively improve processes, accuracy and efficiency
  • Comply with internal controls to protect the assets of the company
  • Provide and participate in cross-training as appropriate
  • Participate in Peer Reviews for general ledger entries and account reconciliations
  • Provide analysis and support for auditors as needed

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; advanced degree a plus
  • 5 – 8 years accounting experience, with exposure to fixed assets reporting
  • Experience with automated accounting systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Ability to meet deadlines, identify problems and solutions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers and management; work independently and on a team
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational and strong analytical skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills - ability to establish credibility, make decisions, and forge relationships

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA/CMA preferred
  • Financial analysis experience
