Internal Auditor

 

As an Internal Auditor for Taylor Corporation, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and experiences and learn about our Company through a variety of audit activities and projects. You will also have the opportunity to help Taylor Corporation develop a risk-based, leading-practices Internal Audit Department.  This development will allow us to provide better risk management within our dynamic and growing Company, and will also enable us to provide more insightful, innovative, and forward-thinking ideas to our business partners.

 

Key Job Duties:

  • Responsible for ensuring that financial controls are effective, assets are safeguarded, transactions are authorized, processed and recorded properly in accordance with all policies.
  • Work on and execute Internal Audit projects, including operational audits, department audits, inventories and special projects
  • Summarize and present audit and project results to Management; assist with other Management presentations as assigned.
  • Review and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Identify control issues and work with business partners to implement change.
  • Follow up with control issues to make sure corrective actions are implemented and maintained.
  • Assess audit results to find opportunities to improve the internal control environment across all companies.
  • Be a trusted, objective and independent partner that is sought after to provide cost effective, independent assurance and advice on the effectiveness of the company’s management of critical risks.
  • Develop an understanding of the business relationships across the organization.
  • Make recommendations for business improvements and cost reductions.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
  • Ability to travel up to 30% depending on project assignments
  • Strong curiosity and desire to learn
  • Good professional judgement and root cause analysis skills
  • Effective and efficient time management skills
  • Work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to plan, organize and multi-task
  • Develop analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite, especially Excel
