Taylor Corporation is seeking a Copywriting and Research Intern to join the Taylor Corporation Innovation Center team! We are looking for an innovative, resourceful, energetic, and talented individual who is ready to take the next step towards their career. The chosen candidate will work in close collaboration with the Innovation Center Coordinator, Taylor Digital Director of Marketing, and other interns, as well as, occasional interaction with corporation leadership. As a copywriting and research intern, you will create engaging written content used in the production of marketing and sales promotional materials, conduct independent research on customer motivations and market trends, and develop regular newsletter, email, and social content. This is a paid, real-world learning experience that will help set you on a bright career path with the potential for full-time placement within one of our companies.


Shift Available:

  • Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
  • Maximum of 30 hours per week, flexible schedule


Responsibilities Include:

This internship position will involve a range of creative and marketing facets and will require excellent attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks on tight deadlines, and strong communication skills.

  • Collaborate with multiple teams to support the creation and evolution of digital and print marketing materials
  • Work with company leadership to establish brand identity and plan communication and marketing opportunities
  • Maintain language and tone consistency across multiple brands and channels (e.g. social media, email, blog, newsletter, web, presentations, video scripts, and print materials)
  • Proof and edit the work of others, as well as your own, to ensure consistency in style and tone
  • Investigate consumer motivations using surveys, market research, and interviews
  • Provide research findings on potential prospects, existing clients and competitive landscape
  • Monitor news and developments relating to, or impacting, key clients and stakeholders
  • Work both individually and within teams to produce defined project deliverables on tight deadlines
  • Effectively communicate project deliverables and strategy rationale in verbal, visual, and written formats


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pursuing or recently attained a degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Advertising, Business, Public Relations, or other related disciplines
  • Able to provide work samples that demonstrate writing and research capabilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively as a team member
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Publisher), Google Documents, WordPress, and Skype
  • Excellent copy-writing and research skills, interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to communicate complex ideas
  • Must be highly collaborative and open to constructive feedback from peers and clients
  • Capable of strategically managing and prioritizing multiple tasks on tight timelines
  • Strong administration and organizational skills
  • Personable, presentable and articulate
  • Ability to work out of our North Mankato, MN office with occasional travel
  • Interest or experience in project management, social media, analytics, email design, or web development is beneficial, but not necessary for employment
  • Familiarity with Adobe design products is a plus (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Premiere)
