Taylor Corporation is seeking a Senior IT Project/Program Manager to work within the technology PMO. The position is responsible for managing all project aspects from initiation through closing.  Candidate will coordinate work performed by IS/IT staff and internal/external partners by defining project requirements and performing feasibility and needs assessments.  A wide range of business experience is required as will have extensive interaction with sales, systems engineering, product development, and other members of cross-functional teams.  Applicants need to exhibit a high degree of leadership.  Project managers with Taylor routinely manage large multifaceted projects/programs that span multiple platforms, systems, companies.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Be accountable to the Project Sponsor for leading the successful delivery of a project/program according to measures of scope, time, cost & quality.
  • Manage large RFP efforts for enterprise and cross-functional solutions
  • Provide business and/or technical leadership as needed for successful conduct of the project
  • Apply established project management principles/techniques to projects (PMBOK and Agile.)
  • Establish and manage programs consisting of multiple project teams
    • Facilitate Senior Level cross-functional business/IT teams in:
      • Breaking down a program into appropriate sub-projects with clear scope and deliverables
      • Ensure scope and deliverables best fit Taylor’s organizational structure and capabilities
    • Build process to track overall program by rolling up individual project WBSs,
    • Ensure individual project managers have clear scope definitions and deliverables
    • Work with project managers to ensure any overlap issues, cross-project dependencies and resource conflicts are resolved
    • Build and track program budgets based upon rolled-up costs
    • Eliminate redundancies and identify opportunities to leverage spend across projects
    • Manage program level communications with Senior Staff
  • Manage multiple standalone projects as assigned
    • Work with Sponsor and management to determine and acquire resources as needed.
    • Assemble project teams; develop work breakdowns, project schedules and budget.
    • Manage team and individual deliverables ensuring they meet timeline and quality.
    • Accurately determine, assign, track and manage project task, activity, documentation and time information per internal standards
    • Balance project scope/budget/timelines in accordance with requirements
    • Effectively communicate with cross-functional teams and executives
    • Identify and manage project/program risks and mitigation


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10 years of hands on IT Project Management experience of which 5 years is Program Management experience including:
    • Leading large enterprise wide programs
    • Coordination of multiple sub-projects as part of a program
  • Extensive knowledge of PMBOK/agile methodologies and practical experience applying them
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodology, tools and techniques
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle methodologies and best fit across ERP, web and other projects
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Office, and SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with a variety of collaborative communications solutions
  • Travel up to 20%


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Project management certification, especially PMP
  • Degree in IT/IS, project management, business or engineering
  • Experience with customer facing applications
  • Experience in print industry, supply chain, footprint/facilities, technology, or mergers/acquisitions
