Maintenance Supervisor – Murfreesboro, Tennessee
Taylor Communications is looking for highly skilled, people oriented Maintenance Supervisor for our Murfreesboro, Tennessee facility. The Maintenance Supervisor will assist in maintaining equipment in the best possible condition and ensure safety of all personnel



  • Makes daily assignments and sets priorities to all Maintenance personnel based on safety, environmental and production importance.
  • Assigns priorities to work orders and special projects.
  • Schedules employees to cover for weekends as needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining expenses within the budget.
  • Oversees maintenance records for each machine.
  • Insure cross training of personnel on repair methods and special equipment.
  • Maintain adequate supply of spare parts.
  • Advise and consult with managers on scheduling of repairs and projects.
  • Development of all employees including appraisals, discipline, training, etc.
  • Develops staff by providing training to allow them to upgrade the skills and knowledge needed to efficiently perform the essential functions of their job.
  • Provide and promote safety and good housekeeping within the work area.
  • Responsible for inventory of maintenance and housekeeping supplies.
  • Responsible for plant security and fire protection systems.
  • Insures conformance to all safety, health, and environmental regulations and codes.
  • Investigates current operations and presents suggestions for improvements where required.
  • Furnishes Plant Manager with operating data, keeps him advised on significant developments.
  • Schedules reporting personnel vacations and coverage of vacations within plant and department guidelines.
  • Conducts departmental meetings and participates in management and general meetings as required.




  • Directs and coordinates preventative and predictive maintenance program.
  • Provides estimates regarding labor and material costs involved in maintenance and capital projects.
  • Provide and develop rationalization for needed capital projects for improved operation performance in terms of reduced expenses and improved productivity.
  • Directs the construction of special fixtures and equipment.
  • Maintains harmonious working relationships with the departments they service.



  • College degree and knowledge of either mechanical or electrical engineering principals or equivalent on-the-job experience.
  • Minimum 5 years years’ experience in a related field.
  • Experience in machine maintenance, electrical systems, mechanical systems, etc.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Above average communications skills.
  • Excellent problem solving skill sets.
  • Ability to analyze data and write reports.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and codes.
  • Computer literate.
  • Above average mechanical, electrical and hydraulic aptitude.
