Taylor Corporation is seeking an experienced Technology Technical Writer.   This corporate level position partners with a team of experts – from Project Managers to Business Analysts, Developers and Technology leaders and interact with leaders across our businesses. This role contributes to the success of Taylor Corporation and its 90 plus companies by providing technical writing direction, analysis, knowledge and resources spanning a wide range of initiatives. 

 

Shift Available

  • Monday -Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, some extended hours may be necessary at times based on project needs

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Building technical documents, instructional materials, visuals and flowcharts for a wide range of activities and business initiatives.
  • Determining the needs of end users of technical documentation.
  • Writing easy-to-understand user interface documents, online help and developer guides.
  • Building and maintaining SharePoint sites, knowledge repositories, and department templates.
  • Manage small projects and execute some business analysis.
  • Taking on smaller level research initiatives and presenting findings to leadership.
  • Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.
  • Create and maintain the information architecture.
  • Building strong cross-functional and inter-company relationships to achieve results.
  • Demonstrate professional presence, communicate articulately and confidently.
  • Superior listening, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Self-starter, with a keen sense of taking the initiative on his/her own.
  • Capacity to establish task priorities and accomplish objectives in an effective and timely manner.
  • Able to manage stakeholders through personal leadership and clear project goals.
  • Needs to be able to interact effectively with all levels in the organization and able to demonstrate sound leadership in fast-paced dynamic environment.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing and/or completion of Technical Writing Course completion
  • 4-6 years work-related experience in technical writing
  • Customer facing experience
  • Experience working on project teams
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Office

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years work-related experience in technical writing
  • Master’s Degree in Technical Writing, Business, or related field
  • Experience completing research projects and business analysis tasks
  • ITIL or related technology certifications
  • Experience with managing projects
