Job Title: Equipment Operator III (Lead)

Department: Digital/Indigo – Production

Reports to: IT/Production Supervisor

Non-Exempt

 

Job Description: 

This position will operate HP Indigo systems quickly and adequately producing detailed, high quality printed materials in a time sensitive atmosphere utilizing high-speed digital printers and finishing equipment. Duties including but not limited to:

  • Sets up, operates and maintains equipment and machinery responsible for manufacturing and assembly of print products or services.
  • Operates equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Reads and interprets work orders, blueprints, guidelines and/or diagrams to ensure product specifications, quality and tolerance levels are met in a timely fashion.
  • Inspects printed material during production and changes controls to correct printing mistakes.
  • Applies advanced skills with many variables to adjust and/or monitor;
  • Implements procedures and processes workflows autonomously
  • Facilitates analysis of customer expectations, quality metrics and production metrics; implements initiatives and process improvements in area based on findings
  • Ensures that adequate supplies of paper, ink, and other materials are available;
  • Demonstrate intermediate level knowledge of paper substrate
  • Inspect work performed to ensure that it meets specifications and established standards
  • Supports company direction and Taylor Corporation Core Values
  • Responsible for following safety expectations in the area, signing off on safety documentation

Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Experience

  • Experience running HP Indigo and other digital printers in a time sensitive printing and production environment
  • Able to manage and troubleshoot HP DFE
  • Able to work independently in a high volume digital print operation
  • Must be very detailed oriented
  • Good communication and comprehension skills 
  • Competence in Microsoft Office.
  • Contributes to an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation to maintain an effective working environment as well as ensure continuity of service to customers

 Preferred Education/Certifications

  • Level I HP Indigo Certification
  • 2 year Degree or Certificate in related field
