RFP Costing Analyst

Taylor Communications is seeking an RFP Analyst - Costing, to support company efforts in obtaining cost estimates for large RFP/RFQ bid responses. This position is also responsible for reviewing and conducting analysis of information received, coordinating and adding appropriate ancillary or other charges, as well as adding margin. You will ensure all customer costing submission requirements are met, develop and maintain costing/pricing documents/spreadsheets, and utilize tools and systems to assure accurate and timely cost estimates relative to RFP bids and other large RFP/RFQ initiatives.

 

Shift Available -     Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assess and verify specifications provided to ensure that customer product information is adequate, understood and available to various colleagues, clearly communicate gaps and engage appropriate sources for response to specifications
  • Provide accurate and useful information when completing customer-facing documents.
  • Maintain communications with field buying personnel, sales, distribution, finance and any other personnel from across the company related to costing activities
  • Responsible for safekeeping project plans, metrics and critical opportunity-related communications.
  • Applies ancillary charges to costing spreadsheet (e.g., warehouse, pick & pack, finance charges, ABCs, etc.)
  • Acts as a key point of contact for sourcing during estimating phase
  • Create notes & comments related to project scope, quality of information and state of readiness
  • Ensure completeness of deliverables and adherence to project timeline
  • Apply margin and prepare final costing and customer spreadsheets
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, under pressure, especially under tight customer deadlines
  • Solid organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience in InDesign is a plus, but not required.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree; 0-2 years’ experience
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, under pressure, especially under tight customer deadlines
  • Solid organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to spec samples
  • Excellent written communication skills to clearly explain concepts in professional documents; must have strong command of punctuation and grammar.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience in InDesign is a plus, but not required.
