Taylor Communications is seeking a Project Manager I to work at our Dayton, Ohio location as part of the Customer Communications Solutions group. This position will focus on facilitating the implementation of software solutions to provide document generation and delivery through a combination of print/mail and digital channels for clients.

Project Managers become engaged in opportunities once Solution Architects have secured client approval on a Statement of Work which defines the scope of the program.  During the next phase of the process, the Project Manager supports the needs of the Solution Architect as technical documentation is developed for the software solution.  After the technical documentation is approved by the customer, ownership of the project transfers to the Project Manager who will manage the internal team of Developers, Compositions Specialists, Customer Service Representatives, Solutions Architects and Sales as well as individuals engaged in the project from the client through the implementation of the solution and close-out of the project.

Shift Available

  • Monday through Friday, Normal business hours

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manages and delivers a proportional share of the team project workload based upon number of projects, associated development hours, and revenue.
  • Integration
    • Utilizes strong project management practices to meet deadline, cost, and quality expectations through leadership of the project team.
  • Scope
    • Ensures solution delivered meets scope as defined in Statement of Work and Program Requirement Document.
    • Manages changes to the scope, whether internally (non-billable) or client (billable) driven, and their impact on schedule and costs.
  • Time
    • Builds project schedules and employ them throughout the duration of the project.
  • Cost
    • Monitors project costs to control implementation expenses.
    • Oversees billing for all implementation charges and transactional billing for the solution occurs accordingly to pricing set forth in Statement of Work.
  • Quality
    • Verifies solution achieves quality standards through our Integration Testing process.
  • Human Resources
    • Provides first line support for client and internal project team members.
    • Transitions on-going support of solution to customer service representative as part of the close-out phase.
  • Communication
    • Leads weekly client meetings and internal meetings, including the preparation of pre-meeting materials and meeting notes.
    • Manages getting approvals internally and externally to move projects forward.
    • Communicates proactively with team members and stakeholders as necessary.
    • Secures client feedback upon completion of the project.
    • Supports internal Project Close-out meeting and documentation.
  • Risk
    • Recognizes and responds appropriately to risk factors that could impact the project.
  • Procurement
    • Supervises those who are responsible for the procurement of outside services and materials necessary for a project.
  • Stakeholders
    • Understands stakeholder expectations and is able to effectively communicate/present project status, details or decisions to internal or client management.
  • Embraces the standards around our project management approach and ensures all procedures are followed.
  • Learns all of the Customer Communications product types and how to implement them.
  • Participates in all assigned training and actively engages in Team Meetings.
  • Mentors team members and fellow employees when necessary.
  • Identifies and implements at least one approved process change improvement for the team annually.
  • Provides one team training session annually.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Formal Project Management training.
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • 0-5 Years of experience as a Project Manager.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline.
  • Knowledge/Experience in Software/Systems development.
  • Knowledge/Experience Print/Mail and/or Marketing Industry.
