Position Summary:

The IT Manager, Manufacturing Systems is responsible for a core set of Taylor Corporation's manufacturing systems with the goal of impacting/increasing revenue and profitability. The Manager will be a proactive partner and will focus on improving manufacturing processes and decision-making via business systems and application software.

 

This position manages multiple application teams and implementations along with daily support of Taylor Corporation manufacturing systems. This individual is a leader within business systems team and collaborates closely with the broader organization as well as other IT teams.

 

The Manager has responsibility for implementing, improving, and maintaining several ancillary applications along with the following core systems:

• Monarch Foundation - EFI

• Monarch Radius - EFI

• Monarch Planner - EFI

• Production Job Manager (PJM)

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership in the design, planning, operation, architecting, maintenance and advanced troubleshooting of the enterprise manufacturing applications.
  • Understands the implications of business and technology trends and integrates them in strategic and tactical plans.
  • Ensures that projects meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements.
  • Proactively seeks out customers and business leaders to identify opportunities and priorities.
  • Proactively suggests and promotes technology and processes that have positive return on investment and deliver value to internal and external customers.
  • Manages and leads a high performing team and delivers performance feedback, coaching and mentoring. Fosters teamwork at all levels and cross-functionally.
  • Ensures the security and efficiency of Taylor Corporation's enterprise manufacturing systems.
  • Proactively researches and champions ways to improve efficiency of the enterprise.
  • Effectively partners with Operations to ensure the availability, reliability and integrity of our business systems.
  • Where necessary, prepare, establish, and monitor budgets.
  • Actively manage relationships with all application vendors.

 

 

Job Requirements:

  • Experience managing teams that support manufacturing systems.
  • 8-10 years direct experience in software development, programming design or systems management.
  • Broad application experience.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of software solutions.
  • Direct, hands-on experience with automated software and system management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
  • Strong customer-service orientation.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Ability to conduct research into application development issues and products.
  • Excellent oral, written communication and analytical skills required.

 

Work Conditions:

  • Overtime may be required in meet project deadlines.
  • Some travel may be required for the purpose of meeting with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/management.
