Position at Sumitomo Electric U.S.A., Inc.

    Salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000 annually. (Non-Exempt, Full-time)        

    I. Job Summary:
     
    “Human Resources and Administrative Coordinator” perform a variety of payroll and benefit administration functions as well as HR related assignments. This position also assists in back office operation when Office Assistant is absent and needs administrative support.
     
    II. Duties/Responsibilities:
     
    Payroll processing/reporting
    o Process semi-monthly payroll on ADP Vantage system
    o Manage/monitor employees’ timecards
    o Prepare monthly payroll reports
     
    Benefit administration
    o Administer all employee benefit programs including enrollment and terminations
    o Ensure employees’ elected benefits are correctly showing in carrier portals
    o Understand SEUSA’s policy on company benefits
    o Track employees’ time off including PTO, jury duty and etc
     
    Employee relations
    o Respond to employees’ questions and issues regarding benefit programs including 401k
    o Assist in new hire orientation and collect paperwork
    o Assist in employee trainings and meetings
    o Assist HR/Admin Manager in investigations and employee issues
     
    Other HR-related assignments
    o Handle job postings and interview set up
    o Maintain/update employee data
    o Handle the tasks assigned by HR/Admin Manager
    o Stay current with HR compliance and federal/states labor laws
     
    Office operation/Administration
    o Be a back-up for Office Assistant and perform Office Assistant Assignments when the Office Assistant is absent
    o Support back office operations and administration matters
    o Handle office routine work including stocking office supply, preparing documents and shipments, handling incoming and outgoing mails, taking care of clerical jobs for the President
     
    III. Marginal Functions
     
    Support occasional matters as directed
     
    IV. Required Skills/Abilities:
     
    Proficient in ADP Workforce Now or ADP Vantage
    Proficient in Excel, Word and Power Point
    Excellent written and oral communication skills in English 
    Attentiveness to details
    Team player
    Flexibility to handle various miscellaneous tasks 
    Punctual and good at time management
    Be able to keep up with new online systems
     
    V. Education and Experience:
     
    Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Human Resources or a related field 
    At least 2-3 years of ADP Workforce Now or ADP Vantage system
    Experience in HR general processes
    Working experience in business office
    Legal eligibility to work in the United States
     
    VI. Position in Organization:
     
    Reports to HR/Administration Manager
    Directly Supervises: None
     
    VII. Physical Requirements:
     
    Prolonged periods sitting at desk and working on a computer
    The work involves physical skills typical of an office environment, including sitting, standing, walking and stooping.  May be required to lift objects such as files, boxes of paper, office supplies, and computer / office equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
    The work may require motor skills for activities such as moving objects, including computer / office equipment, including but not limited to telephones, personal computers, handheld technology and other office equipment.
    Essential position functions require ability to routinely read document for general understanding and analytical purposes and viewing a computer monitor.
