We have a great opportunity with the Sullivan County team, for a highly-skilled candidate to work as a VAWA federal grant Victim/Witness Coordinator.  This part-time position in Claremont will be approximately twenty hours per week.  The wage range is $14.00 to $19.00.

This position is responsible for a wide variety of duties related to victim/witness coordination in cases of domestic and sexual violence, stalking and dating violence.

Duties will include prioritizing work assignments, working independently, and ensuring the workload is completed as required. The Victim/Witness Coordinator ensures that victims and witnesses are well-informed about their cases. This will involve notification of significant court events, referral to appropriate support services, help determining and requesting restitution and the return of property, and information concerning the conviction, sentencing, imprisonment, and release of offenders.

The position requires strong organizational, communication, and computer skills.

Qualifications:

  • Duties require knowledge of administrative skills equivalent to two to four years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and other software applications to include scheduling, calendar, e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheets.

 

  • Considerable knowledge of business English and the ability to compose routine letters.
