Assistant/Sr. Assistant Director of Admission Information Systems (CRM Specialist)

Summary of Position

This role serves the admission office in use of the CRM system (Slate) and all data integrations between external vendors and data sources, the University SIS, and Slate (CRM). Reporting to the Director of Admission Information Systems, the main goal of this position is to utilize new and existing technologies in the effective improvement of admissions recruitment and enrollment management functions.  This includes taking an active role in staff training for the data systems, assisting staff with recruitment planning based on available data, and creating and implementing processes in Slate to assist other Enrollment departments interact with admitted students - related to financial aid, advising, orientation, residence life, and registration. May also entail recruitment travel or on-campus recruitment program coverage as needed.


Primary/Principal Responsibilities:


-Assist with data integrations between Slate (CRM), the University website, the University SIS (currently Colleague), and many external vendors, including test score sources, student search, student marketing companies, and University partners for application sources.  Strive to automate and improve the frequency and accuracy of data flow between all systems, using API and other similar technologies

-Work with the Director and other Sr. Assistant Director to maintain all Slate functionality, and implement new features, heavy focus on project management in order to roll out plan goals in a timely manner

-Co-manage the annual cycle prep processes in Slate (CRM), including all data fields, values, reports, queries, and forms/applications

-Assist with ongoing daily initiatives using Slate (CRM) as a recruitment, admission and yield tool, including communication campaigns, data checks, decision processing, and query/report building

- The Sr. Assistant Director may be assigned other specialized responsibilities as needed, including but not limited to assistance at admission events on and off campus




  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience or strong familiarity with common computer applications for applicant and relationship management; skills in SQL, HTML, XML and Javascript is a plus
  • Experience in CRM products/services, preferably with Technolutions Slate
  • Previous work experience in an admission office is preferred
  • Demonstrated excellence in writing, oral communication and presentations
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to organize and follow through on projects
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a teamwork setting
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work in a wide variety of conditions and environments depending on the time of year: the office; schools, hotels, home, and while on the road/recruitment travel if necessary
  • This position requires occasional evening and weekend work
  • Light physical activity is often required: moving tables and chairs, carrying recruitment materials, lifting small boxes
