STG is currently seeking multiple skill levels of Arabic Linguist Analysts, these positions are contingent upon contract award.

 

Our Linguist Analysts are characterized as personnel who take maximum advantage of the research tools and resources available to them. STG Linguists combine foreign language proficiency, target knowledge, and cryptologic experience to allow them to reconstruct and recover, to the extent feasible, material missing from corrupted voice traffic or graphic text. They identify areas in which more or better research materials are required to support the processing efforts. Senior Linguists compile working aids, reports, and databases. They also provide guidance to junior personnel to accomplish these tasks. STG Linguists may be expected to:

  • Perform final quality control for voice and graphic materials, as well as translations produced by other linguists
  • Provide on-line assistance to other linguists
  • Produce translations in final format, ensuring that the final version reproduces with absolute exactitude the original text
  • Draft and edit summaries and gists based on various sources of written communications.

 

Possible Work Locations include:

 

Washington Metro Area, Georgia, Texas, Hawaii, Utah, Michigan, and OCONUS

Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a US citizen

 

  • Must possess an active TS clearance with SCI access and Polygraph
  • Linguists must have a minimum of three (3) years of transcription, translation or other language-related cryptologic experience.
  • Must have extensive experience in language, literature, linguistics, or related humanistic fields.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Literature, Linguistics, Translation, or related humanistic fields; equivalent experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Recent Language Test Scores- Performance at Level 3 in listening, reading and translation as defined by the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) is highly desirable
Preferred Qualifications:
The Linguist must have an excellent command of the foreign language and the specific knowledge, talent, and skills necessary to function independently
  • Basic internet research skills and an understanding of telecommunications and computer network communication fundamentals are desired. 
  • Master's degree in a related field
