About the Job

STG, Inc. is seeking a Logistics Lead to add to its team in support of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.  This position is located in Vicksburg, Mississippi.  The Logistics Lead plans, organizes and leads day to day activities of the Logistics Department.  Responsible for implementing training requirements and monitoring employee performance. Establishes production standards, monitors compliance, and recommends operational improvements. Assist the manager in accomplishing the short and long term goals for the department/function. Maintains employee compliance with safety policies and procedures. Insures compliance with applicable government regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching, motivation, and counseling to employees to encourage optimum performance and continued skill development. Effectively plan and manage the organization and utilization of people, technology, and materials to achieve continuous improvement in departmental performance.
  • Evaluate and recommend changes in preferred work processes to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Effectively manage deadline pressures while maintaining a positive attitude,
  • Provides operational oversight to ensure work is accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner. Insures awareness and monitors employee compliance with all applicable company directives, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports. Prepare adhoc reports as required.  Prepare slides for the Internal and External Program Management Reviews. 
  • Employ continuous improvement framework so as to improve inventory accuracy and reduce instances of non-compliance.
  • Continuously monitor and improve the working environment to ensure a safe workplace.
  • Provide effective and timely verbal and written communication between management, supervisors, and departmental personnel
  • Maintain all departmental work, vacation, overtime, and related schedules.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • 4+ years of logistics experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
  • 8+ years of logistics experience.
