About the Job

STG, Inc. is seeking an Applications Engineer to add to its team in support of the United States Air Force.  This position is located in Montgomery, Alabama.  The Applications Engineer will provide customer support services, development, integration, testing, and performance engineering for the Applications and Software Integration team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track and provide status of current releases and provide updates of anticipated releases.
  • Ensure application release artifacts are tracked by version and secured for access as needed.
  • Install and uninstall application releases, supporting auto provisioning when possible.
  • Identify issues and discrepancies involved in installation and configuration of application release.
  • Monitor upgrades to the development, test, and production environments to ensure stability.
  • Propose and document solutions to resolve issues and discrepancies in the development, test, and production environments.
  • Provide database support to include startup, shutdown, and password resets.
  • Create and manage application user and group accounts, roles, and access control lists.
  • Work with production environment staff to coordinate application migration across environments.
  • Provide hands on technical support for modernization, integration, installations, migration, and sustainment of applications.
  • Assist and participate in all activities pertaining to software development lifecycle activities.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of the release artifact packages to include verification of documentation and configuration for compliance.
  • Document and review security findings and provide results for remediation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • 4+ years in System Engineering to include hands on technical support.
  • Experienced providing application migration support across multiple environments
  • Thorough knowledge of the software development lifecycle
  • Familiarity with quality assurance and compliance review and tracking tools (Quality Center)
  • Experienced with both commercial and government cloud environments
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II (SSCP, CCNA-Security, GSEC, Security+)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years in System Engineering to include hands on technical support.
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.]
