Description

Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases. Conducts performance tuning of indexes and databases in general. Reviews database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery, and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements. Maintains security and integrity controls. Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization. May develop stored procedures and/or triggers.

 

  • Utilizes broad expertise or unique knowledge to achieve goals in creative and effective ways and to contribute to development of new database administration principles and concepts. Acts independently on technical matters pertaining to assigned field and related disciplines.
  • Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives. Exercises wide latitude, discretion, and independent judgment. Often initiates assignments independently. Determines and pursues action needed to obtain desired results. Work is checked through consultation and agreement with others rather than by formal management review. May supervise team members.
  • Provides innovative and ingenious solutions to unusually complex database administration problems.
  • Provides technical direction and coordination for a multi-disciplinary staff and may supervise team members. Defines own role flexibly to maximize productivity of team. Engages in high-value-added activities. Recognized as a positive role model within the team and STG.
  • Serves as prime contact for the project or program team. Interacts with customer personnel on significant technical matters. Conducts beneficial briefings for management and customer representatives. Gathers support for change initiatives.
  • Ability to see and read computer screens, concentrates for long periods, and remain in a sedentary position. Requires sitting for long periods. Ability to communicate via computer and telephone.Clearance:

  • Position requires a TS/SCI security clearance

  • 3+ years overall experience

 

Education:

·         HS Diploma

 

Certification Requirements:

One (1) or more of the following:

·         Oracle 12C Admin Master

·         Oracle SOA 12c Implementation Specialist

·         Oracle ID Gov Suite 11g IS

·         Oracle AM Suite Plus 11g
