STG, Inc. has an immediate opportunity as a Cyber Exercise Planner located in Fairfax Virginia. This position will support Department of Homeland Security, which provides cutting edge Cyber, Information Assurance and Security Services.

The selected applicant will become part of the United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT), responsible for analyzing and reducing cyber threats and vulnerabilities, disseminating cyber threat warning information, and coordinating incident response activities. US-CERT provides advanced network and digital media analysis expertise and defends against malicious activity targeting networks within the United States and abroad.

Position Description:

The Cyber Exercise Planner will maintain and develop exercise scenarios and requirements that meet the strategic and operational exercise objectives of the DHS NCCIC National Cyber Exercise and Planning Program (NCEPP) customer.

  • Efficiently facilitate compliance in all exercises, including regional and national directives.
  • Schedule, announce, plan, coordinate and execute large-scale, dynamic planning conferences, work group meetings, interim progress reviews, teleconferences and both secure and unclassified video-teleconferences.
  • Gather, assemble and analyze facts, draw conclusions, conduct analysis, devise recommended solutions and package the entire process in briefings, papers or reports suitable for executive- level leadership
  • Evaluate and perform incident escalation in accordance with customer guidelines.
  • Work with other Team members to ensure an effective and efficient exercise management system for a Federal government customer.
  • Analyze pre and post impact assessments of exercise plans.
  • Support full spectrum of cyber exercises including: Seminars/Workshops, Tabletop exercises (TTX), Functional Exercises (FE) and Full-Scale Exercises (FSE)

Basic Qualifications - To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below.  This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.   

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 1 year of related technical experience for a level 1 role, 3 years for a level 2 role, 5 years for a level 3 role, 9 years for a level 4 role.
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility is required.  In addition, selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a favorably adjudicated DHS background investigation (EOD) for continued employment.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing cyber exercise scenarios to meet operational objectives
  • Ability to produce results in a fast-paced environment with the ability to meet iterative deadlines.

  • Current DHS Suitability at the SCI level.
