About the Job

STG, Inc. is seeking a Finance Manager to add to its team in support of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.  This position is located in Reston, Virginia.  The Finance Manager is responsible for all functions related to accounting and finance on the program; provides direction and leadership to program financial personnel; coordinates with Senior Leadership to create presentations, prepare for and conduct required audits; partners with Operational leadership as well as with Program Support departments to address all matters of financials, budget, invoicing, receivables and contractual proposals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership to all finance employees in the program. Functional areas include budgeting, forecasting, project management, cash flow management, pricing and general accounting.
  • Develops strategic business plans and forecasts. Provides analysis on the financial status of individual contracts and of the combined program operation.
  • Develops and maintains program EAC (Estimate at Complete) forecast.
  • Reviews and provides analysis on the financial status of the program.
  • Analyze trends and metrics to develop solutions and processes for the program.
  • Responsible for monitoring costs related to program.
  • Ensures the financial statements provide a realistic view of the operation’s financial position.
  • Responsible for preparation of financial statements and reporting for the monthly (PMR) Program Management Review.
  • Manages the Pricing function including the preparation and reviewing of cost proposals
  • Interfaces with multiple internal and external auditors.
  • Ensures adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley and FAR requirements. Leads the efforts associated with Sarbanes-Oxley audits.
  • Primary point of contact for all DCAA audits ensuring timely, accurate and complete interaction with the various auditors.
  • Responsible for development of forward pricing rates for the program burdens and overhead. Prepares budget reviews for indirect expenses.
  • Provides support to all program Senior Leadership.
  • Interfaces with STG HQ concerning their requirements.
  • Maintains financial project orders and work instructions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in all areas of accounting with 3+ years of supervisory/management experience in a government contracting environment.
  • Ability to lead projects and to build successful financial programs within an organization.
  • Expertise in Excel, Deltek, and related financial applications.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • ITILv3 Foundations
  • PMP

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or CPA
  • ITILv3 Expert
