About the Job

STG is seeking a talented, dynamic, and experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to add to its team in support of the United States Postal Service.  The Cybersecurity Engineer will be responsible for the security architecture across a variety of applications and domains, including cloud computing and other assigned initiatives.  The ideal candidate will have expertise in certificate management, change review, IDS/IPS administration and analysis, Tenable administration and analysis, or tuning and improving email security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research current and emerging technologies for security, compatibility, and or usability purposes.
  • Participate in the security review process through applying knowledge of systems testing and evaluation methods for security review.
  • Discern protection needs to compare the organization’s protection requirements to its information security guidance.
  • Document gaps found in security architecture to improve the risk management plan.
  • Present considerations for applicability, risk, and recommendations for remediation on identified gaps in security architecture.
  • Use IT architectural guidelines to review system architecture designs or systems.
  • Document design specifications, installation instructions, and other system information to integrate and migrate existing and planned platforms.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of cybersecurity, information security operations, or related information technology operational functions experience
  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related discipline

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Information Technology or related discipline
  • Experience in Tenable administration and analysis
  • Experience with Symantec
  • Experience with Sourcefire, Tippingpoint, or TrendMicro
  • CompTIA Net+
  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Security+
  • CPTE (Certified Penetration Testing Engineer)
  • CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
