STG's State Assistance Management System (SAMS) team at Department of State is looking for qualified IT training instructors and support desk specialists to join our program and assist our bureau customers with the delivery of billions of dollars of annual international assistance to non-profit organizations and other recipients.


About the Job

The successful candidate will be training Federal and Contract staff on the use of the Department of State’s grants management system, Grant Solutions (AKA SAMS). STG is looking for a driven individual who delivers outstanding customer satisfaction through a positive attitude, diligent work ethic, and strong written and oral communication skills.


The selectee will receive training on the DoS SAMS application and DOS federal assistance policies as a part of their orientation. Upon completion of the initial training the selectee will serve as an Application Support Specialist. In this role, the selectee will continue to provide training on an ad hoc basis as new users are assigned to the system. However, his or her duties will expand to also include answering user questions about the SAMS application, trouble shooting user questions and issues with the software system, as well as additional projects and initiatives. The selectee will be responsible for developing training materials that integrate written as well as graphical instruction. This person will serve as a Point of Contact for Department users and interact with the system owner’s (Health and Human Services) customer help desk and other Department stakeholders.


Minimum Qualifications

Training Specialists must have at least three years of training experience and some IT experience. Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years related experience.

  •     BA degree in Business, CIS, or similar
  •     Prior Federal Government experience a plus
  •     Ability to obtain Secret Clearance – Already Cleared is a plus
  •     Good Customer Service skills
  •     Good Organizational skills.
  •     Excellent technical and business writing
  •     Ability to work in a positive, fast paced environment
  •     Expert knowledge of MS Office product suite
