STG, Inc. has an immediate opportunity as a Systems Administrator located in Fort Belvoir, VA! This position will support CISD, which provides cutting edge services focused on supporting the Civilian Human Resources Agency, Department of the Army.

 

The System Administrator will provide support for CISD's CA Service Desk, Microsoft Windows, and Unix/Linux systems to include home-grown, Government-Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) and Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications that reside on them. The functionality of the COTS applications includes application servers, web servers, reporting tools, backup/recovery, performance monitoring, Human Resources (HR) and others. System administration support includes the customary duties expected of system administrators to maintain highly secure and available systems by adhering to cyber security guidance and implementing industry best business practices. The System Administrator will provide local and remote administration for development, test, production look-a-like, and production systems and ensure that the system/application availability performance standard met. The System Administrator will adhere to established timelines based upon established Project Plans and be co-located with the CISD. CPOL Service Desk tickets shall be used to initiate, coordinate, track, document and report all actual work performed under this requirement.

 

  • Administer a geographically dispersed, multi-OS environment, supporting Army HR production systems as well as development and test environments. Install and maintain Unix, Linux and Windows OSs in virtual and non-virtual environments as well as clustered and non-clustered environments.

 

  • Maintain compliance standards, the system administrator will upgrade software to the latest vendor releases of tools, implement new features as required, and apply vendor patches to address bug fixes and security vulnerabilities on Windows, Linux, Unix, COTS and third-party software without degrading performance. Ensure all systems are on vendor supported versions that are configured in accordance with all applicable IAVM, STIG and other requirements.

 

  • Plan, document, coordinate, schedule, communicate, and execute system maintenance in recurring weekly and monthly maintenance windows for all systems and applications.
  • Configure, customize, administer and sustain Computer Associates Service Desk (CPOL Service Desk) Manager COTS application.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Clearance: 

  • Position requires an Interim Secret security clearance with final Secret clearance upon adjudication. 

 

Required Skills:

  • 2 years of experience in Windows or Linux system administration to include application servers, web servers, reporting tools, backup/recovery, and performance monitoring.
  • Experience in CA Service Desk administration.
  • Experience in CA Service Desk version migration or installation.

 

Education:

  • Equivalent experience may be substituted for degree.

 

Certification Requirements:

  • Security+, or higher certification

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Desired Skills:

  • BS/BA in Computer Science or directly related field (e.g., Information Technology, Information Science, etc).
  • Windows Server 2008/2012, RCHA, LPIC, or CompTIA Linux+ certification.
  • Experience in Windows and Linux system administration.
  • Experience in CA Service Desk Administration.
