The role: Data Scientist
We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our busy and dynamic team based in our Dublin office.
Why we need you:-
You will work closely with many different teams across the business, using data and advanced analytics to contribute to their success and growth. You will create and use advanced predictive models to extract and analyse very large data sets.
You will need to gain a good understanding of the gaming sector to establish which models should be used in the correct context. You’ll use data mining techniques, analytics and business judgment to solve business queries, while working with various business areas to drive insights, improve our products and create more effective marketing campaigns.
You’ll also be responsible for data science projects from conception stage to testing, delivery and optimisation.
Who are we looking for:-
You will have a degree or MSc/PhD in a quantitative area such as Statistics, Maths or Economics. You will have experience delivering complex data science and analytics projects within organisations. You’ll have a great understanding of statistical methods and machine learning techniques.
You will be proficient in at least one programming language (Python, R, Scala). You’ll also have experience manipulating large datasets using SQL, Spark, or similar. As you will be communicating with senior management, explaining concepts in non-technical language is fundamental as is the ability to tell a story through data.
As the ideal candidate, you will have:-
Previous experience in the online gaming industry is desirable. Proficiency working with the PyData stack and experience with deep learning frameworks. Hands on experience working with large semi-structured datasets in cloud environments, Hadoop and/or Spark. Knowledge of git and version control as well as experience working with Unix/Linux environments.
Knowledge of computer science concepts such as memory management, time complexity and parallelisation would be a plus.
