Poker Product Analyst
The role: Poker Product Analyst
We are looking for a Poker Product Analyst to join our busy and dynamic Business Intelligence team in our Isle of Man office.
Why we need you:-
Do you really need to understand why? Why do things work the way they do? Why don’t we try something different? Why some people play Game A in preference to Game B? Why do some people react more positively to promotions than others?
We’re looking for someone who needs to know the answers to join our growing team of Business Intelligence experts. We are passionate, like-minded individuals pooling together their expertise to provide cutting edge insights that drive the development of our world-leading Poker Room, Casino and Sportsbook.
You, as a Poker Product Analyst, will be a key contributor in the on-going development of our products and offerings. You’ll work closely with Poker stakeholders, not only providing timely insights when requested, but also spending time focusing on your own ideas of how we can improve customer experience within our Poker product. Your analysis and your insights, along with expertise and support of your Poker product stakeholders, will make substantive changes to business servicing more than 100 million registered players.
Who are we looking for:-
You will have knowledge in online poker and relevant experience in a similar analytical role. You’ll have a degree (or equivalent) in one of the quantitative areas, such as Statistics, Maths or Economics. You will have a familiarity with PokerStars website and software and experience as a Poker player, online or offline.
You will have experience with SQL, Python, R, KNIME or similar and an analytical mind that can pull insights and solutions from data. As you will be communicating with various areas and senior management, often relaying insights to non-technical members of the business, a great command of English is fundamental. The nature of our industry requires individuals to be able to work well in a fast-paced environment.
You will have the ability to see the bigger picture. The insights you provide will have an impact on the poker product area, so it is important for you to evaluate these and prioritise the value adding tasks.
As the ideal candidate, you will have:-
Experience in the online gaming industry and practical experience working with large datasets. Previous experience using Google Analytics, advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and an understanding of product tracking requirements is desirable.
Experience in data mining, advanced analytics (clustering, regression, predictive models or similar). As well as practical experience building dashboards and visualisations using software like Tableau, Shiny, Data Studio or similar.
What’s in it for you?
The salary for this job is based on experience so whilst we are not able to provide such details at this stage, we can confirm that we offer an excellent salary and benefits package.
Our benefits include a discretionary annual performance bonus, premium health and dental insurance for you, your partner and your children (providing you all live at the same address).
As an advocate of work/life balance, we offer an annual personal interest allowance where we encourage personal learning outside of working hours; e.g. driving lessons, cookery classes and circus training (to name a few that our people have used this towards). To support you in developing your skills and career, we will provide ongoing training. We offer many more great perks such as an annual travel loan, subsidised massage sessions, free drinks, snacks, hot beverages and fresh fruit every day.
What happens next?
We will aim to get back to you as soon as possible. If you meet the criteria, then we’ll invite you to a phone interview and if that goes well we’ll meet you for a face-to-face interview
