The role: Senior IT Systems Engineer
We are looking for a Senior IT Systems Engineer to join our busy and diverse team based in our Isle of Man service office!
Collaborating with the Systems team lead you will develop, maintain and supervise our global corporate IT systems infrastructure. You will work closely with IT operations teams to ensure stability, integrity and high levels of availability are achieved from the company’s IT systems.
Why we need you:
You'll provide senior level technical expertise in the design and engineering of corporate IT systems. You'll also manage full-stack and hybrid environments, as well as manage on-prem and Azure Active Directories.
We expect you to support group-wide technology initiatives. You'll supervise our IT systems infrastructure and respond to faults. You'll also be performing collection and analysis of requirements for new system deployments and expansion. IT system security hardening and SOC response will also be part of your daily tasks.
You can apply agile principles to manage planned and unplanned work. You'll build, review and share documentation. You can handle global voice systems. Occasionally, you'll perform out-of-hours escalation and maintenance duties
Who are we looking for:
- 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft operating systems and technologies.
- Relevant data centre level certification from VMware or Cisco.
- In-depth technical knowledge of virtualisation technologies.
- Experience managing SAN implementations.
- Experience managing virtual desktops environments.
- Experience managing Microsoft Azure and O365 offerings.
- Able to prioritise and work within tight time scales to meet deadlines.
- Strong service skills and excellent customer facing demeanor.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong multi-tasker and great teammate.
- Available to travel and work extra hours if the needs of the company require it.
